FH2go is an Android application for students of FH JOANNEUM that allows students to sign up for exams, check exam results and keep up to date with their schedule. I developed the app and the corresponding server software as part of my Bachelor’s thesis. The app has been available from the Play Store since 2012 and has received positive reception among students.
Besides the implementation of the app I also designed and implemented the server software („FHPI“) required to access the different university services. That way the Android app communicated with a single server, which then made requests to all the different university servers and returned a result to the app. This architecture also enabled students to easily write similar client apps: students developed iOS, Windows Phone and web apps leveraging FHPI.
I supported the app until 2017, by which time the app had on average 4.3 stars and over 5000 downloads in the Play Store. Further development was later done by other students. The app is now obsolete because FH JOANNEUM has since moved away from Actions, the system that is accessed by FH2go.
